Company History
Founded in 1976, E K Industries, Inc began supplying Chicago area Laboratories from their original Addison, Illinois facility. The original EKI product line included chemicals and reagents for use in the clinical/medical laboratory as well as the industrial testing laboratory. Also featured was a large selection of laboratory apparatus and equipment.

Our goal was to provide the highest quality products and personalized service to our customers. This commitment to quality has been the primary objective in our business relationships, and is still reflected in every aspect of our operations.

Our reputation for quality and service quickly made E K Industries one of the fastest-growing independent, regional distributors of laboratory chemicals and apparatus. We began to focus on our manufacturing operations, and expanded our line of chemical products to include a complete selection of chemicals, testing solutions and reagents used in the clinical laboratory setting. We are very proud to be currently supplying many of our original customers, some thirty years later.
As business operations continued to expand, EKI relocated in 1988 to its current location in the historic manufacturing district of Joliet, Illinois. The current facility, having undergone several expansions and upgrades, is geared for continued business development and growth.
Products manufactured by E K Industries are used throughout North America and the world. Our reputation for product quality and consistency coupled with superior service has contributed to our continued growth. Facility:
E K Industries, Inc. is headquartered in the historic manufacturing district of Joliet, Illinois, approximately 40 miles southwest of the city of Chicago. Our recently expanded facility is easily accessible from several interstate highways and is bordered by the Illinois Central railroad line. We are adjacent to the historic I&M Canal as well as the Des Plaines River.

Our multi-acre site is the former home of the Robert Pilcher Paper Plant. It houses our corporate offices, distribution center, raw material and finished product warehouses as well as our quality control testing laboratory. Also on site is our water purification plant, production facility, tanker and bulk chemical load/unload area, and over 25,000 sq feet of flexible, configurable floor space in our automated packaging facility. The entire facility is FDA inspected and licensed.

Custom Formulation:
EKI offers manufacturing, formulation, and blending services for chemical products in batch sizes ranging from small-run pilot projects to full scale manufacturing. Our production facility can support liquid handling operations up to 5,000 gallons. Additionally, our staff of chemists and technical experts is available to provide consulting services on any type of project.
